Proses-Proses Standar dalam Warehouse Management System

Warehouse Management System or Warehouse Management System is a system designed to support the management of a company's warehousing. This system is also designed to support the supply chain process. This warehousing management system began to be widely applied in order to assist a company in managing warehousing. In this system there are several processes that can support the management of goods in the warehouse. Processes such as Receiving and Putaway, Dispatching, Stock Take, and Reporting are ideal facilities provided by the Warehouse Management System. The following are the standard processes contained in the warehousing management system:

Receiving and Putaway
Receiving and Putaway is one of the processes contained in the Warehouse Management System that starts when goods arrive at the warehouse. Newly arrived items must first be included in the warehousing management system. This is to facilitate employees in updating the database of goods in the warehouse. The input process for new arrivals uses PO (Purchase Order) data input that can be carried out either automatically or manually by the purchasing department. The main principle of this process is the suitability of data between goods that come with the needs in the warehouse.

After receiving (receiving) the goods, then the goods are placed at a certain place / location in the warehouse. This process is known as a putaway. This process is considered important in warehouse management because it can provide accurate information about where the goods received will be placed. This process supports the FIFO / FEFO (First in First Out / First Expired First Out) system.

Dispacthing
The dispacting process aims to support the operational release of goods from the warehouse (picking and delivery) of goods to be sent to consumers. This process will assist warehouse operators in finding the location of items to be released.

The employees who work in the warehouse only need to see the information that is already available in the handheld device so that they will be easier to find where the items are located in the warehouse. Then they began the process of picking and scanning barcodes on the sticker found on the pallet.

After they do the picking process, these items will be sent to consumers. They must be guided by information of goods to be sent or sent to certain destinations. Therefore, the existence of this warehousing management system employees will get order information from customers through a barcode sricker that is affixed to the carton to be shipped. The barcode sticker will show exactly the number of items taken from the warehouse.

Stock Take
Stock Take is a process in the Warehouse Management System that aims to adjust physical stock and computer stock. The presence of a warehousing management system will help with this stock take process. Without the help of a proper warehouse management system, the stock take process will feel very tiring. Stock take itself is an activity that is very draining, time and also requires a large number of warehouse workers. This is because they have to count one item at a time in the warehouse to ensure compatibility between physical goods and data in the computer. Thus, the company will get an appropriate stock update between computer data and physical goods.

After the workers calculate the goods to ensure compatibility between the physical goods of the goods and computer data, a report on stock take will then be printed. The report must be able to ensure there is no difference between physical goods and stock data in the computer. When there is a difference between the physical and the computer, the warehousing management system will help the warehouse operator to recalculate the items. This warehousing system will provide a reference to the location of goods that occur the difference. Thus, they no longer need to go around the warehouse to count all items.

Reporting
The reporting process is also considered important in the management of warehouse management. The report contained in this warehouse management system must be able to explain many things relating to the stock of goods available in the warehouse in a valid manner. The report can at any time be used by the company to make decisions or policies.

Those are some important processes contained in the Warehouse Management System. These processes can make managing stock in the warehouse easier to do.
