Look again at the Classification of Big Data Technologies and Types of Data that You Should Know!

Big Data technology classification - Big Data is used to describe large volumes of data, whether structured or unstructured, which can overwhelm your daily business. Even though the data volume is large, it's not just the amount of data that matters, it's what the data does that matters. Big Data is able to analyze data to provide understanding which leads to better business decisions and moves.

Actually the act of accessing and also storing a large amount of information for analytic has been around for a long time, but the concept of Big Data was only discovered in the early 2000s.

Type of Data

Before you know the classification of Big Data technology, it's a good idea to know the types of data first. That is because Big Data technology is always related to data. Big Data has three data that are always associated with it, the three data are structured, unstructured, and semi-structured. The following is the explanation:

Structured data
Is data that can be stored, accessed, processed in a fixed format. In general, the data that enters the structured type is data in excel or spreadsheets. The data is organized and easy to access from various databases with a simple search engine algorithm. Reading this data is also very easy. Examples of this data are company sales data, employee personal data in the form of name, position, position and salary which are attached in a structured way and are also organized into categories.

Unstructured data
Data of this type is unstructured and cannot be classified. There are many challenges to overcome when reading and analyzing this data. In addition to having a large volume or size of data, you will be challenged to be able to read the value from the data and then process it.
This unstructured data can come from several sources and have a combination of simple files such as text, images, videos, and so on. These examples can be found on social media such as the number of likes, followers, comments, data, and also what activity each user account has.

Semi structured
This data contains both structured and unstructured data. This type of data has not been classified under a specific repository but contains important information such as separating individual elements in the data and so on. Examples of files that fall into this data type are xml, json files, and CSV files.

Big Data Classification

The various types of data make this Big Data grouped or classified into several types. There are currently two classifications of Big Data technology, namely operational and analytical. This operational Big Data technology is built with NoSQL databases such as databases with document bases which are aimed at various types of applications such as key-value store databases, column family stores, graph databases which are used for specific application optimization. This technology was developed to overcome the shortcomings of relational databases in a modern computing environment known to be faster, cheaper and easier to scale than relational databases.

The second is Big Data Analytic, where this type is implemented with the MPP database system and also MapReduce. The emergence of this technology is a reaction to the limitations and the lack of traditional relational database capabilities to manage more than one database server.

Because it can be used to collect data, read values, analyze and various other things, it is not surprising that Big Data must be implemented in business.
